When I was a little girl growing up in Barbados, party shoes were a big deal for me. At any birthday party, I’d be the girl with her party shoes still on, running around, when everyone else was barefoot.
This picture is of my six year old daughter’s latest prized possession (passed down to her by one of her cousins). She beamed with pride as soon as she put them on. Seeing the look on her face gave me a flashback to my own party shoes days.
