Over the summer of 2008, the idea for “loopylocks” evolved after making some dolls for my children as a craft project. My first dolls were not reversible with a sleeping face or a reversible dress for that matter. Needless to say, it felt like something was missing. The decision to make loopylocks look like two dolls in one came out of necessity – my daughters kept asking for more clothes for them to sleep in.
This was the first loopylocks doll I made. Her body was made using left over cotton twill from hemming some IKEA curtains. The face was drawn using fabric markers. Her hair was made with old felt from a pillow. Her dress had a simple elastic neck and was made out of really pretty IKEA fabric I found on sale.
